In the history of painting in this country there was a movement of artists called the Harlem Rennaissance. The Harlem Rennaissance was a time when African-American artists first were free enough to make, show and sell their art works. There were all types of artists in this movement including painters.
Do you remember reading about or seeing anything about that in Beyond Books? Well it isn't there, and then they give the reader one chapter on Eastern art.
