History of Science

In this course, you will look at the effects of  politics, economics, societal views, and levels of technology on the directions scientists take to discover new ways of doing tasks.  You will look at some readings that involve key countries, scientists, and technologies then explore one area in detail.  You will be able to choose a focus that interests you then research on your own to discover the effects of the time frame in which the scientist lived and the effects on our current time frame.  For instance, has our techniques for using insects changed since the first time insects were used?  Check out the History of Forensic Science notes to get you started!
